What we collect
We collect only what the service needs to run:
- Account details — your email address and, if you provide one, your phone number. Authentication itself is handled by Clerk; we store an identifier that links your account to theirs.
- Pickup addresses — street, city, state, ZIP, and any access notes you write (for example a gate code or where to leave bags). Access notes are shown to your driver.
- Laundry preferences — water temperature, detergent, fabric softener, dryer heat, delivery speed, and any standing wash notes you save.
- Order records — pickup and delivery dates, timestamps for each stage, bag counts, and notes written by the person who washes your laundry.
- Doorstep photos — taken at pickup and delivery as proof of handling, and occasionally during washing to document damage or staining.
- Payment records — the amount charged, an itemised breakdown, whether the charge succeeded, and Stripe’s identifiers for the transaction.
- Messages you send us — anything you write through the contact form or by text or email.
Why we collect it
We use your information to schedule and complete pickups and deliveries, wash your laundry the way you asked, charge you for orders you placed, send you service messages about your own orders, and answer you when you get in touch.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not run behavioural advertising, and we do not buy or enrich data about you from third parties.
Who processes it on our behalf
We use a small number of service providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and each is bound by its own agreement with us:
- Clerk — account creation and sign-in.
- Stripe — card storage and payment processing.
- Supabase — our database and the private storage bucket holding doorstep photos.
- Resend — transactional email (order confirmations, receipts, reminders).
- Quo — the text messages we send about your orders.
- Vercel — application hosting.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our staff, or our customers.
Photos of your doorstep
Our drivers photograph bags at pickup and delivery so there is a record that your laundry was collected and returned. Those photos may incidentally show your door, porch, or entryway.
They are stored in a private bucket that is not publicly readable. Access is granted only through short-lived signed links generated for you or for staff working on your order; those links currently remain valid for up to one year from generation. Photos are deleted when your account is deleted.
Text messages
If you give us your phone number, we send text messages about your own orders — pickup reminders the night before, and confirmations when your laundry is collected and delivered. These are service messages, not marketing.
Message and data rates may apply. To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message or contact us and we will remove your number; you will continue to receive order updates by email.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the site — principally the session cookies Clerk sets to keep you signed in, and cookies Stripe uses for payment security and fraud prevention.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Blocking necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and order history for as long as your account is open, and afterwards only where we have a specific reason to — principally transaction records we are required to retain for tax and accounting purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can view and change your address, preferences, schedule, and payment method at any time from your account. You can also ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you,
- correct anything inaccurate,
- delete your account and the data attached to it,
- stop sending you text messages.
To request deletion, contact us at support@nimblelaundry.com. Deletion removes your database records, your doorstep photos, your Stripe customer record, and your sign-in account, subject to the audit-log exception described above. We will confirm when it is done.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We will honour those requests regardless of whether a particular law applies to you.
Children
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, doorstep photos sit in a private bucket reachable only through signed links, and staff access to customer records is limited by role and recorded in an audit log. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if a breach affects your information, we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. For changes that materially affect how we handle your information, we will email you.
